Was this just a defective unit, or are they all in need of an update?
I haven't really done any testing w/mine, but I'd like to know if it should be returned.

My unit was not "defective" as it did supposedly reprogram the PCM. However, it needed "improvement" so I sent it off to them to have it "fixed"

If you want yours fixed, do the same thing I did. Call them up, complain about anything you find wrong with it, and include a letter along with it. It never hurts to try, I'll let you all know how the upgrade runs.

I'm not sure if there's anything wrong w/it.
I was hoping you could tell me if there's a program update that they all need.

I just spotted your post in the lounge.
Keep us informed.
I guess I'll have to do some testing now.

Well I didn't yell at anyone here. I'm not sure what you're talking about, I'm simply reporting my experiences with this unit. So far those experiences were not good, and neither were the experiences with Hypertech the company.

i think you are going overboard. and especially with your letter saying how you couldnt tell any difference at the track. unless you have some kind of degree or some kind of validity for such things, i wouldnt listen to a word of it- if i was working at hypertech. if i was at hypertech i would take the letter as this:
i bought this thing for a god awefull amount of money and my car wont go faster, and i think its broke
if it is that much trouble- get your money back and leave hypertech alone. mine for my A4 worked and jasons for his M5 worked, if i where you i would just drop it. especially if you couldnt tell any difference between 87 and 93 octane gas.
6s.......under the hood or under the belt, they just dont cut it.

Maybe it worked for the 93 octane programing you doof, but he didn't try the rev limiter. God forbid that he's pissed that he paid $350 for a speed limiter remover. What if he has a cam that's not worth installing because he can't get the full benefits of it because he's stuck at the 5900 limiter. They promised he could adjust the rev limiter, yet he can't. Let me sell you something for $350 that only does half of what I said it could do and see how happy you are.

OKAY, let's everyone simmer down a little bit, and start acting a little less like 6th graders.

defective units aren't entirely unthought of. Shane(Nachius) had a bad JET SCU2000. Again, it's not typical, but not unheard of.

I applaud Dominic for his efforts, and hypertech for working with him.

i see he gave up on it.
though his ordeal is gonna cost a lot of unnecesarry disturbance in the V6 world. now nobody wants to buy a hpp3. even if they are A4 owners. its not my fault those people cant differentiate. every A4 owner came on here and said it worked for them, and we even had testimony from a happy M5 with dyno proof-not just laymans testing.
its a shame it didnt work, i would be mad to, but huffing and puffing didnt get anything acomplished now did it.

yeah agreed... and for me track proven, A4 .2 off the 1/4 time... so again the hpp3 is more for autos...
