I just installed my new EGR valve, reset the codes and my SES light went away FOR 1 WHOLE DAY! It's back now. It was just enough time to get my car through a smog check. I really want this light gone for good. I took my car to Autozone and they couldn't pull the code. They used every trick in the book, they even opened up a Haynes manual to double check. The pin-jumping trick DOES NOT WORK!!! What is the deal with this damn car? I'll have to take it in to my mechanic AGAIN to get this handled. He works normal hours, so I'm going to have to miss work and arrange a ride during a weekday. What a pain! Let me know if any of you guys with 94/95 OBD1s figure out how to pull codes yourself.

count the number of pins. obd-ii has 16, obd-i has 12.
with the 94-95's that had the 3.4, you cannot jump pins to flash codes, and i'm not exactly sure the actron will flash them either.
i think i read about how to go about reading codes on these models on the autoxray website.

you may have obd-ii connector but it may be attached to the obd-i pcm. no 3.4l is obd-ii in the f-body.

If it's something other than the EGR valve, I'll replace it and put my old EGR back on. $175 is way too much money for preventive maintenance when I could buy Go-Fast parts instead.

96 and newer has OBD2, 95 and older had OBD1. Some cars have OBD2 connectors, but have OBD1 comp. But no exceptions 96 and newer is all OBD2, and OBD1 is 95 and everything older.

Hope that clears thingys for ya all
