  • Stupid POS plastic backup vacuum valve keeps breaking

They are like $3 a piece at NAPA, but these little 3 way vacuum valves plastic POS keep breaking. The first one lasted 5 years. When it started to go whenever I accelerated hard my air would go from my face vents to the window defroster and the floor. After awhile, usually about a months timespan, the plastic POS just shatters. It looks like the vacuum pressure builds up so much it's shattering them.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? It's not that big a deal to fix, but doing it this often has started to become quite a nuissance.

Never had any vacuum valves break on me, but, I would buy the next one and cover it with some sort of epoxy (like JB Weld). Cover the whole thing and let dry overnight. Shouldn't shatter after that.
