I dunno that kid is irritating as hell as well as 90% of the people at that forum. I don't even know why I go there...lol They bash V6 Camaro's left and right here's anther guy saying...as long as you realize a V6 Camaro is a slow car..then it's ok lol...check out what I'm going to say ;)
The M3 is a yuppie car. It is cars like that yuppie buys for Christ sakes. For some strange reason, a holdover from the 1980's I think, if it isn't made here it must be great.
As far as a Corvette goes, it is the best bang for a buck you can get in its class.
My bone stock 97 vert gets lots of compliments. Especially with the top down.
Those who think the Camaro/Firebird are POS have no clue. They spend gobs of money on Fast and Furious wanna-bes. They end up paying more to get what the Fbody has for far less. And it burns them up. So they have to trash our cars. A classic case of penis envy.
Sheesh, a friend of mine who owns a 1995 Porshe 911 loves my car.
I just don't see where anything can compare to a V6Fbody for $10k or less. For about 2k more you can get a 98 SS. At least the Horsepowertv guys did.
A 300zx? Good luck finding one that hasn't been beat to death. And the last one was made when? 1996? And IIRC less than 1,000 were made.
I like them, almost bought one, but bought the 94 instead.
And I am more than happy with the 97. It doesn't sound like a lawn mower on steriods. It looks good sitting still. It doesn't need a towel rack on the back. It doesn't need stickers all onver the body.
Drop the top, put the covers on, and go cruising.
Don't need to prove anything to anybody. Especially those fart can riceheads.
I just wish people would stop bringing up v6stangs in the same category as v6 fbodys.... its like a full second 1/4mile difference...

Well, from what I've seen a 3.8 F-bod and a 99+ 3.8 Stang are neck and neck with a 5 speed...but this is just what I read. I know the Ford auto's are very inefficient..though..lol ;)
Whaaaaat? Are you out of your mind? Ford and GM are bitter rivals, why on God's green earth would they ever partner to make anything?!
Good job on arguing the V6 f-body though dude, you've spoken for a whole community of us through one stupid ricer forum. I love the one ricer that has the picture of the 3000GT and the C5 vette in the same driveway and says "like father like son" ahahaha ya right, what a dip****!

oh man... camaroincal, why waste $10 going to see a movie when i can sit here and read what you write on those boards and be entertained for hours? you could make some money charging people to read the crap you post on there, it's pretty great stuff lol. keep it up, i enjoy reading this. and yeah, it's nice having this board to post on with sane people... they don't seem very well educated over there.
LOL...Thanks for the great laugh. It was enjoyable to read after working. Please post a link to the next forum you do that to again. If I catch it in time I'll jump in if you'ld like.
GM, Ford form alliance: 6-speed automatic transmission would save fuel
October 11, 2002
BY JEFF BENNETT
DETROIT FREE PRESS BUSINESS WRITER
General Motors Corp. and Ford Motor Co. said Thursday they will work together in an extraordinary alliance to develop a six-speed automatic transmission for front-wheel-drive vehicles.
The move is expected to help the world's two largest automakers eliminate hundreds of millions of dollars in development costs, increase fuel efficiency in its vehicles and keep pace with the competition.
Thomas Stephens, GM's group vice president of power train operations, said the two companies have been working together since January to develop the transmission that should begin appearing in vehicles sometime after 2005.
David Szczupak, Ford's vice president of power train operations, said: "We have checked with our legal people in Ford and GM, and we are not breaking any antitrust laws."
The transmission is expected to offer an estimated 4 percent to 8 percent improvement in fuel economy over traditional four-speed automatic transmissions found in front-wheel-drive cars, the automakers said.
Ford and GM engineers will work together to develop a base platform but each automaker will produce the variations for its own vehicles.
Although domestic automakers have partnered on such projects as the formation of the electronic commerce site Covisint, they are usually fierce rivals when it comes to the engines, platforms and technology in their vehicles.
"Each of us would have spent hundreds of millions of dollars to bring a new front-wheel-drive transmission to market. We feel that there are significant savings to be had by doing this together," Stephens said. "Saying that we don't like each other, that's not true."
The companies declined to discuss financial terms of the arrangement.
But Stephens also opened the door to the possibility of future collaborations.
Under the memorandum of understanding, GM and Ford agreed to share a common design, engineering and testing of the new transmission. They will work jointly with suppliers to develop and purchase components, but each will assemble their own transmissions at their own plants.
Szczupak said Ford chose to go with GM's design because the company was a few months ahead in the design of what will serve as the basis for the new transmission. Ford paid GM a royalty but the amount was not disclosed.
Mike Wall, senior analyst for the Grand Rapids-based automotive research firm IRN, said suppliers and the automakers could both win if Ford and GM can truly share information.
Wall said if there is a common transmission base, suppliers can reduce the amount of different parts they need to make, which speeds production time.
GM and Ford will use the new transmission in high-volume, front-wheel-drive large cars and sport-utility vehicles with annual sales in the hundreds of thousands of units, officials said. Most of the passenger cars GM and Ford sell in the United States are front-wheel drive.
Haven’t done anything on the Camaro, but put LEDs on my truck headlights . And my oil pressure sensor went out on the truck so going to fix that this...
