I started to change my plugs a few days ago, i was able to change my 1,2, and 5, i found my #6 but i quit on that one, i wasnt able to find my #3, or #4. but i stumble upon a wire that had a boot on the end of it that would appear to go on my spark plug. it was just tucked under some stuff over by my battery, but the other end is connected to something cuz it wont just pull out. There are cob webs and what not inside the litle boot opening on the plug, so it has been sitting there forsome time, i did have someone change my plugs for me about a year ago, is it possible they didnt put a boot back on? What do you all think

possibly, but how in the world could u drive around for a year running on 4 or 5 cylinders and not know it. I can feel the slightest miss in my idle. You had no idea?

well lately my car has been kinda stuttoring and since i have changed those 3 plugs, it hasnt done it, but ive noticed sometimes when im cruising @ like 45 or more, my car seems to bog and when i push in the gas it picks up speed slower then normal. but sometimes it doesnt do that. could it also be that my car shifts into 4th and it should really be in third and the rpms just wont gain> its an A4

This is what you do. Find all your spark plugs on the engine and follow the wire. plus the coil packs are all together so how could you not find them?

my buddy has my jack, so i couldnt get under mycar, cuz my wires go over the top of my engine and then under and around to the drivers side, so its hard to follow once their under the engine

well you are going to have to get underneath the car. when you do I would suggest getting a bright droplight under the car to clearly see everything...

Could it also be possible that when the guy changed your plug/wires he left one of the old ones stray in the engine compartment and that's what you found?

OBD II would know right away if you left a wire off. You'd get SES light.

I agree with the last post that it's probably an old wire left behind.

no need to get under the car to change plugs on the 3.4. i did mine a few weeks ago, just follow the wires to the plugs and find a way to get the socket on there. took me about an hour and a half with a socket a few extensions and a swivel.
