Ok, here goes... I've got a '97 A4 Y87. I have brand new plugs, new wires, new fuel filter, clean K&N air filter. The PCM has no codes. My top-end and highway speeds are great, but I can't even chirp the tires from a dead stop going to WOT. I've checked everything I can possibly check, but haven't been able to isolate the problem. I have no misfires, the fuel pump checks out, my MAF sensor is clean, the throttle body has been thoroughly cleaned, I have no vacuum leaks, etc. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. Right now, my wife's 96 cavalier 2.2l can take me off the line. Quite embarassing.

Could be Fuel Injectors? Did you check and recheck your wires, make sure they're on good, etc. I had the same problem and it was my injectors and a bad wire.CarDomain Page

run some fuel injector cleaner thru the next tank of gas, and also take the intake system off, and run some throttle body cleaner through it.
if that doesn't work, there's a possibility you have a vaccuum leak.
have an SES light at all?
EDIT: daggone it i completely misread you man! my bad. see if the plugs are gapped right. that might be it too. some 3.8s don't like anything but stock plugs, you might check that out.

Plugs are gapped right, and everything is connected. I had it checked by a tech2 scanner, and everything seems to be within specs. The car runs great, and I'm getting 27 miles to the gallon, but the hesitation off the line is driving me crazy. My friend at the dealership rant the pressurized injector cleaner through the car, but it didn't make a difference. We also did the injector balance test, and nothing showed up there. maybe I just have a lemon?1997 Y87 Camaro with a motor and some stuff.
