Hey don't go crazy yet...I thought for sure the breaker would solve it last night so let's find out first! ;)

Yeah, Ike suggested replacing the breaker with a fuse first, but Silver seems to have confirmed that this is the solution. (at least according to the guys over at LS1tech)

Props to both of you if this works.

That was not intended as a flame; I thought wavey guy would pass along the "teasing" of my tone. Sorry 'bout that:)

Thanks, but I didn't really do anything. I just read a lot of boards (been active for quite a few years now), but don't always remember where the information comes from. I tend to remember the what/why/how but not the where. (It's the scientist in me.)

Thanks to Silver 99 for doing lots of leg work and actually testing theories!

Ike...cool man, no worries. I'm an engineer so I always look for documentation. If we all get the problem solved that's all that matters.

It worked! Popped in the 30 amp fuse last night and it stayed on for 10 minutes! It even turned right back on again! Thanks to the guys at ls1tech.com for having the info we needed.

I'll stop and pick up the fuse and a jug of windshield washer fluid and I'll have both ends covered, so to speak... for winter that is

Great job finding the fix to this annoying problem! For the totally braindead among us, can you two tell us the exact details to replacing the breaker with a fuse? Sounds stupid I know, but for the recent F-body converts who arent quite sure of fuse box placement and/or any unique parculiarities these cars have, we would appreciate it!

open your drive door
theres a panel you can take out and you see all the fuses... look on yor owners man for that braker (i think it the only metal one in there) and i think it labled to....
pull it out and replace it with a 30 amp fuse

I'm with you Ike.

On mine there were two large metal breakers right next to each other. The diagram is on the back of the cover you remove. It's the one labeled defrost/seats.
