i just pulled up to the house and everything was totally fine, listening to music... and as soon as i slow down my car dies... then i try to start it again but now its idling like it has a cam and i have the reduced engine power light and the SES light... the car felt aLOT stronger like when it was in park it seemed to be revving sorta high, and when i put it into drive and reverse it would pull as if it wanted to idle up to 25 mph.... it was weird, so i turned it off and went inside to type this.... im at my grandparents house btw and need to get home tonight lol... HELP PLEASE!!!

could be alot of things, but my first guess is a coil went out on you. they can die with no warning, one minute the car is fine the next the idle sucks and it is missing. Had it happen twice to me.
My second guess would be a problem with the mass air flow sensor, if that is out of whack the car will go into a sort of safe mode and it runs and idles funny. That is designed to let you get home if something like the throttle position sensor or mass air flow sensor dies.-Brad

everythings fine now so i assume that whatever went wrong was temporary or maybe water in the PCM lol... I have no idea, my car has died twice on me when i just had to start it up again, but this time it got all weird.. now its fine, i drove it about 20 miles back home with no issues... weird.. i though maybe it was a loose spark plug, so i wiggled the first one and i also wiggled the PCM and then the car ran fine so :-\ but im going to change the plugs and wires for the incoming Nitrous system and ill also look at the vacuum lines and such... im going to autozone to get it scanned tomarrow so that someone can tell me what the code means..

Before I state, how have you been driving the car in the cold? were you easy on it till it warmed up or were you just blasting away as soon as you started it up? You could have a bad EGR Valve... That would explain your idle being out of whack. If it is bad, get it fixxed ASAP because if you don't, your O2's and Cat will follow shortly after.Originally posted by DarkEcho:

hmmmmm i dont think i have been super hard on it or anything.... how difficult is it ro replace the EGR? any write ups you know of? Did you get the codes read yet? If it is the egr, its not that hard to change. If you want, I'm going to probably be watching the Steeler game with my buddies at Silver Dollar on Sat. ok i went to Midas, i love those guys, basically i got a 99 buck (scan diagnosis try to fix the problem for you, free of charge if they cant) thing for free. he told me the price and i said i didnt have the cash so he told me ah well since your a regular, well see what we can do... so the other dude takes the car for a test drive (this guys worked on my car ALOt everything from brake inspection stuff to muffler welds) so anyways comes back says it seems to be working great, so he scans it, no codes, not even pending codes that dont always throw an SES, so everything looks fine, he even take takes out a spark plug and inspects it, clean as a whistle... but what he did say that was VERY interesting was that during the cold seasons, the gas companies add alcohal to the gas as antifreeze, and then the steel containers can gather condensation, and because water is denser than fuel, it sinks to the bottom of the tank where the syphon tube is, then obviously it gets sucked into your gas tank where it settels once more and then gets put into your engine, he is pretty sure that that is what happend to me because of the signs... and whats funny is that night, i had almost gone completely empty when i filled up completely with new gas, 5 minutes later my engine stopped... he says that 20-30% of people that have this issue is because of bad gas.
