well took the car to the shop finally they got it started turned out to be a bad crack sensor connector in the wiring harness that cost me 290$. But after they got it started the miss was still there from cylinder 5 and 6 so i called them today and they said they belive its a bad vacum leak causing the miss is this possible they want 80 to check it with a tester and than they can tell me how much it will cost i told them to go ahead and check it but do you think the vacum leak could be causing the miss???

Doesn't a vacuum leak also usually cause high idle?

a small to moderate vacum leak will cause high idle but only if it is so large that the pcm can't compensate for it. A very large vacum leak at the intake manifold where it bolts to the heads can cause a cylinder to misfire at idle and clear itself at higher rpm's

i tighten all parts to troque specs when i put it all togther . I hope its not the intake cause that will be prob anywhere to 350-450 to fix im just guessing and i dont have that much cash. One ? though whats that hose the runs off the top of the transmission is that a vacum hose because i follwed it and it just ran out into the frame.

well shop called today and said no vaccum leak but when they did a compression check the 6th cylinder sucked his finger in which he said was not good. I dont know much about vavles and all that but he said he thinks a push rod might be broke or bent and is causing the vavle to be stuck so its missfiring. He is charging me 256$ to take the vavle cover off and check allthe stuff which i think is pretty decent. so has anyone else ahd this prob??

If he put his finger over the spark plug hole and it sucked his finger in it more than likely measn that the intake valve isn't opening. He could do a running compression check and would be able to tell within 10 seconds what the problem was(if it is valve related)instead of charging you all that cabbage to pull the valve cover off.

It would only be an intake valve not opening if it were sucking his finger in on the intake stroke....If he were mixing this up with the power stroke, then yeah, his finger should be getting sucked in.

That's what I meant to say just came out different..do the running compression test and that will tell the condition of the valvetrain...for what it's worth running compression should be about half of cranking compression, anything significantly higher than half would indicate a problem with the exhaust portion of the valvetrain, anything significantly lower would indicate something wrong on the intake side. Although this test doesn't tell you exactly what is wrong it will tell you if you are on the right track and not have to waste time or you hard earned dollar pulling valve covers
