Okay people, welcome a new V6 Camaro owner. I just signed the papers on a new, to me, 2001 convertible. This is going to be my extra/winter car (my daily driver is a 2000 Corvette coupe) and I will admit I know next to nothing about the Camaros. My first mission is to correct that deficiency. Where can I find a good source of information about Camaros in general and mine specifically? I checked the Technical Archives and the topic I need the most (RPOs) doesn't seem to point to anything useful. Any help or advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Mike

Awesome. Thanks Camarobabe, this will keep me busy for a while. This is my first Camaro and my first vert and I'm into the "what did I just do?" period of the new car purchase cycle. I should be able to pick her up tomorrow night which will help calm the jitters a little.

mcjoslyn, may I make a suggestion. Check out www.ls1.com as well. You'll learn MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE THERE. I'm sure you know that your Corvette is equipped with the LS1 motor...hence LS1.com Also the 98 - 02 V8 Camaro/Firebirds have that same engine.
Let me be one of the first to welcome you to the site and to the F-Body community!
Let me be the first to question why you would pick a Camaro for a winter car? :D j/k! ;) I can tell you from experience that a Camaro is not the best snow mobile around but makes for a fun ride when there's no snow! ;)
Congrats on the new purchase! You couldn't have picked a better extra car!
Hey now, Camaros are fine Snow Vehicles. As a solid Michigan driver. I drove mine thru every type of weather. 6-12inches, no prob. Just get some weight for the rear end, and go.... nothing more fun than having the power to powerslide whenever you want to.

99camaro99 - Thanks, I've been to ls1.com, it's a good site. Unfortunately, I only have a V6 in the Camaro (although I will be looking to squeeze a little more "go" out of it in the future).
Jason - I picked a Camaro because I wanted a rear-wheel drive car having grown up driving them in all kinds of weather. I feel I have more control over a RWD than a front drive in slippery conditions. Besides, you haven't lived until you've driven a 389-powered GTO in a blizzard!

Next question, where is the RPO sticker on a 2001 Camaro? I look in the glove box and it's not there. I didn't see it in the trunk either. Suggestions?
