i know this is a regularly discussed subject but there's some answers i couldn't find searching. my car starts every time, but sometimes (maybe once, twice a day if i drive alot, not too often) i have to hold it a second or two longer because it hesitates before turning over. also hesitates a bit at low rpms sometimes. things ive gathered it could be are fuel pump, injectors, fuel filter. plugs and wires were replaced recently so that's not it. car has 87k, fuel filter replaced at 75k. i ran a bottle of stp fuel injector cleaner through last oil change, no luck. i want to get it fixed now before something completely breaks, cus i'll be going back to arkansas for school in a month, and i don't want it dead there. so would it be worth having the injectors cleaned just in case? how much is that? sometimes it starts like a charm, and runs like the day i bought it, so what i'm worried about is taking it to the mechanic and it acts fine, are there any other way to diagnose these problems? thanks alot guys. oh yeah, how much is a new oem fuel pump anyway?

do you get a flashing SES light? if it's hesitating down low, it could be a missfire in one cylinder. that fuel injector cleaner thru the gastank isn't that great. best thing is to get some spray injector cleaner, and remove the injectors to clean. a little more time consuming, but it should help your problem, if that is what the problem is. also check for small vacuum leaks

Here is what I saw at our dealership just the other day. It was a 95 Lexus, ran like **** down low, stalled, and shifted bad. It was a broken wire in the throttle position sensor. Check it by pulling on the individual wires and seeing if any pull out. Don't give a huge yank.

no, there's no ses light. and it doesn't feel like it did when it misfired because of a bad wire. i have no idea how to take injectors out, is it hard? is there somewhere i could have it done? oh and how do you check for vaccum leaks? thanks

Taht has actually been happening to me lately but I noticed that it only happened when I filled up with Chevron brand gasoline. I always go to this one Chevron gas station all the time.

Now that I put 76 brand gasoline a few days ago, it hasn't happened anymore.

I dunno if it's the gas but who knows?

i was actually just about to ask if that could be the problem, cus last week i filled up at caseys, which i don't normally do. usually go with phillip 66. filled up there this week and has started fine every time, so thankfully i'm not out any more money :D
