• Battery hold down snap is broken, any suggestions on an easy fix?

well, I found this out while going through the tech line at an autox, luckily I had some rope to do a half as$ed job of securing it, I really dont feel like buying another battery tray that will just break again. Any other suggestions? only thing I could think off was 2 long bolts on the front&back of battery and a metal strap going across the top..but, I like things to look "pretty" and that wouldnt cut it. suggestions?

use the tray again and line the bottom of the battery with double-sided 3M tape ..that thing won't go anywhere!

          I zip tied it.

The tray is factory only if you choose to buy a new one so it will be expensive.

The tray is actually the top of the coolant resevoir. Last time I checked it was around $40-45 for another one. Mine is broken too and I just put a rag between the battery and radiator. Maybe you can paint a piece of would and place it there if you don't want to buy another one.

hmm, ok well, ya this is on the camaro. But silcone of double stick tape wont pass for my OWN inspection, I need something more secure. And about the tie down strap, thats something I would make. From the factory there are 2 little edges that the ridge of the bottom of the battery slip into. small plastic stuff. I guess Ill just go with my original Idea, thanks anyways.

I was talking with a buddy of mine who autocrosses, he said he used a dremel to make 2 notches on the sides of his tray then used a $8 battery hold down from autozone.

I'm gonna look into this too... using my camera strap tied around my battery is getting old
