well, I found this out while going through the tech line at an autox, luckily I had some rope to do a half as$ed job of securing it, I really dont feel like buying another battery tray that will just break again. Any other suggestions? only thing I could think off was 2 long bolts on the front&back of battery and a metal strap going across the top..but, I like things to look "pretty" and that wouldnt cut it. suggestions?

is this on your tahoe or your camaro? I"m a lil confused I don't recal an over the batter tie down strap on our cars. -
use the tray again and line the bottom of the battery with double-sided 3M tape ..that thing won't go anywhere! The tray is actually the top of the coolant resevoir. Last time I checked it was around $40-45 for another one. Mine is broken too and I just put a rag between the battery and radiator. hmm, ok well, ya this is on the camaro. But silcone of double stick tape wont pass for my OWN inspection, I need something more secure. And about the tie down strap, thats something I would make. From the factory there are 2 little edges that the ridge of the bottom of the battery slip into. small plastic stuff. I guess Ill just go with my original Idea, thanks anyways.

I was talking with a buddy of mine who autocrosses, he said he used a dremel to make 2 notches on the sides of his tray then used a $8 battery hold down from autozone.
