  • how do i use this pulley puller?

man, i picked up this pulley puller from autozone and got all excited to replace my PS pump, got all the hoses off and then opened up the puller kit. I realized I have no idea what to do with this thing, Its got a bunch of bolts, a few nuts, and these 2 weird half-moon things. Im trying to remove my P/S pump but have no idea where to start with this kit. Its the one from autozone, #27031 if you guys have ever used it. Help a brother out lol

im going back out to see if i can figure it out

i dont own one myself..but i watched them pull the supercharger pulley at my garage...i believe you have to take the nut off of the pulley that you are trying to pull..then you screw the puller on in it's place..i think the half moon things are the arms that sort of grab on to the pulley like fingers..then you pull it..i dont know if that helps any but i think thats how it works

there are also 2 half moons that somehow go into the equation

see once you remove that bolt the pulley only stays on because they're press fitted..so you do just basically pull it off..but thats why you cant do it with your hands because if the super tight press fitting...i think the half moons are the pieces that somehow grab on to the pulley or a part of the pulley...then there was a handle part on the user end of the puller that my garage was using that turned to slowly pop the pulley off..thats all i really know

i figured it out, the piece i was using in the photo is actually the part that you use to put the pulley BACK on after you take it off, you were right about the half moons, they gripped onto the pulley around the lip where you screw another part into the center. it was pretty basic once i sat there and thought about it lol
