• Braking Question (possible problem)...

My '94 'bird has the standard front disc/rear drums set-up and seems to me not to brake as efficently as possible. It has that "rock against rock" feeling.
I recently upgraded to the EBC Sport Grooved Sport Brake Rotors (black coated zinc) from FTPP and Hawk HPS Performance Pads. The performance, while better than stock (especially after the pads/rotors are heated up a bit), still has that numb feel and does not seem to be giving its all. Any ideas?
I considered the brake line upgrade kits but know from previous experience that the often make the braking feel "harder" and may contribute to the problem. If this a common issue with the GM F-bodies? Anyone else experience and solve this problem?
Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

my guess would prolly be air in your lines or maybe a master brake cylinder that could be going bad...try bleeding your brakes, if that doesnt work then its process of elimination
cheaper to more expensive
I will take on all comers...or come on all takers!!! Whichever you prefer.

also, i believe those pads must be heated up to work properly, they are supposed to be race pads if my mind serves me correctly.

thats the full ceramic pads, they have to heat up to work well, if you have those just ride the brake some pulling out of your drive way and it will heat them up and then you have no worries

Thanks for the advice. I think I am going to try bleeding them after the holiday weekend. That might be it, I almost forgot about that aspect.
The heating up of the pads are necessary, though, as the stopping power undoubtably increases after they are warmed. TRUST ME! But good pads, nonetheless, especially at highway speeds. Again, thanks for the advice.
