sup again everybody. ive ran into a problem. whenever i hit high-rpm 3rd gear, 4th, or 5th gear, i hear a grinding sound. to me, it sounds kinda like radio static. if i press the accelerator harder, the noise will get louder. i just installed a pro 5.0 shifter, but i doubt that has anything to do with the problem. well i am new to manuals so im not sure what the problem could be. any help is much appreciated, thanks

That's probably it. The stock shifter has rubber in it for a reason - to stop noise coming up from the transmission. Many people who put in a solid shifter get transmission noise.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs -
My B&M Ripper makes a bit more noise than my stock shifter. Mostly in 1st gear as I'm accelerating though, then it goes away above 10mph.sigpicComment

if im in too low of an rpm in my car when im in a particular gear, itll make noise. like, if im doin 15 and im in 3rd, or like 25 in 4th itll make noise.
try shifting a little later....Comment

Our cars don't have very good power top end and in 5th don't even think about taking off suddenly.
