How do I get the center bolt off the crank pully? I can't keep the pully from spinning. I guess an impact wrench would work but I don't have one.

You need to have 2 people for that job. Nathan and I had a tough time doing that. One person has to pull one way while the other person pulls the other way.New Toy Red 94 Formula LT1

It could maybe hold.
You need to get access to the flywheel. On my 98 A4 it entailed removing the starter and 2 covers on the bellhousing.
Take a prybar and stop the flywheel. Then have one person hold it in place while the other turns the bolt on the crankshaft. I did a few writeups on this before.Sinister Six
Cardomain
--This doesn\'t change the fact that I am ~The Guru~ who still kicks puppies...

put the car in gear and set the handbrake. If that isn't enough, wedge something on the brake pedal.1999 red camaro v6 M5: with a turbo
13.52@107.99
No, seriously: Who Farted?
http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/600086

He's got a 3.4
Theres actually many ways he can take it off you know. Actually I tried it right now (seriously), I got a crowbar and wedged it behind the balancer (against the block) unitl it pressurized itself against the ps pulley and it worked. Didn't even need the air gun.
So whats w/ the "NO!" for?
He can also wedge something between the flywheel and it will work well, just don't know if he wants to go under his car---Niño---
95\' silver 5 spd

On the 3.8 there is a second metal ring behind the balancer. Denting or bending this can be VERY bad for your car. Don't know what it's like on the 3.4....Sinister Six
Cardomain
--This doesn\'t change the fact that I am ~The Guru~ who still kicks puppies...
