My idler pully is falling apart and messed up my belt. I cannot get the thing off though. This isn't the tensior pulley but the other idler pulley below that on the 3.8 V6. I removed the bolt but the pulley will just not come off. Is there something special I have to do to get it off?

no you dont need it to put it back on, i found a socket a little larger than the middle hole in the pulley, then pounded on it with a hammer/rubber mallet to reinstall the pulley.http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/483076
TSP rumbler, straight pipe, corvette servo.
Soon - 3.42+lsd,headers, cai,

Re: Idler Pulley help
update*
well i got it off,but not without a little cursing.(okay alot of cursing )
it was just on there really good i guess.i was tugging on it with a hammer and the whole car was shaking.so i squirted it down with pb blaster and let it soak a few minutes then i took a hachet and put it against it with the handle in the air and proped it against the manilfold (i think) and wacked the heck out of it about 30 times and it popped right off.what a relief!
well i put the other on that i got from autozone(i know autozone sucks )
and i put my belt back on and cranked her up.well i guess i had the belt to far back and it was rubbing against the tensioner and eating at the belt.so i shut it off and moved it forward and started it back up with fingers crossed and seems to be working.i let it idle around for about 10 minutes reving on it every so often and it is still looking good.so i think i have conquered the pulley! :excited:
