used seafoam for the first time today. seemed to be going ok at first. engine tried to stall but i kept it going. after about 1/4 a can, it started to smoke from under the engine  (guess i spilled some), and a knock  . i stop then and shut her down. waited about 10 min, then restarted her. let her run for about 10-15 min, didnt see alot of smoke, just a lite steady smoke. does this sound like i did anything wrong?

The amount of smoke depends on how dirty the engine was. Some people's cars smoke much worse when they use Seafoam because the engines have more buildup inside.Matt

I've heard several people mention using Seafoam, but I never quite understood what it was. I did search through the forums here, but didn't find any more revealing references to it than this post.
Is this the product everyone is talking about?
That looks like a fuel treatment, but I was under the impression this stuff was used to clean out the intake manifold?1994 Firebird 3.4
15.65 @ 86.8
funkz.net/firebird
Timeslips

I used the stuff. And mine never stalled or smoked. Then when I did my head gaskets recenetly, I notced there is not too much of persay buildup inside the intakes, but there was alot of buildup of oil etc on the walls of the upper and lower intake passages. So it might have helped some, cause I guess it could have been worse. But it might just be one of those products that is overrated. I dunno.Jordan
15.09@90.7
1995 Camaro 3.4 M5

It just burns up the carbon buildup. Seafoam is not the only thing you can use. Automatic Transmission fuild works well also.1999 Pontiac Trans Am M6 Far from stock.....
