Couldn't find any Seafoam locally, but I read numerous articles that both STP and Marvel make similar products, and used for fogging and engine oil cleaning. I ended up using the Marvel Mystery Oil.

Scared the crap outta me when I pulled that brake booster line off, revs jumped up to 3k rpm. Until I started pouring the Marvel in though. Then the smoke started rolling. I had twin streaks of carbon crud 4 feet back from my tailpipes when I stopped pouring and the revs jumped back up. I started this in the garage and quickly had to put the vacuum line back on and back the car out into the driveway where I had the neighbors gawking. They probably thought, "oh great, he's always tinkering with that car and now it's on fire".

NO restore from what I hear is crap.

Seafoam did great on my 85, still faint dual black splotches on one of my garage doors at my home, and that was over 4 years ago

My 94 didn't smoke much but I did tear down and manually clean the upper intake while I had the motor apart.

My girlfriend's 96 Cavalier, smoked teh worst of any of them, she even got a little freaked out, I laughed.

I jsut picked some up but haven;t dumped it in yet.

Used it for the first time yesterday... Barely any smoke . Used about 1/2 the can, and only a little bit of white smoke. Anyone else get those results?

Driver's side, against the firewall (under the cowl) you should see a large round black plastic canister. This is your brake booster. Coming off the side of this at about 9 o'clock is a thick (appx. 1" diameter) rubber hose. Use a pair of pliers to squeeze the clamp open and slide it back the hose a few inches, then gently twist the hose off. That's where you pour it.

i used it when i 1st got my car 2 yrs ago. I poured 3/4 of a can down her...waited about 12 min, started it up and it really put out the smoke.
P.s. you can use ATF?! how does it work the same?
