Cool Badbird I'll let you know. To Bat ,no not a racist, don't know where that came from .Just pro American products, because I've seen too many of my countrymen (white, black, asian, latnos, etc.) who lost good jobs because of the influx of forign products.Engineers,assy. line workers,& skilled & non-skilled laborers,do you know how devestating it is to not have a decent ,living wage paying job for years, esp. when you have a familly?I worked in heavy industry for 33 years & seen this happen over the years.I'm probably a lot older than most on this forum,so I've seen the devastation it causes when my people loose their jobs.I've had a lot of cars made in the U.S. 20 or so & most were just marvelous, long lasting pieces of technolgy,Mostly GM & Ford products.
Don't know whats in Tulare Ca. or what industry is there, but where I live we make steel & more steel,& cars. The Chicago area was once one of the largest car & steel manufacturing areas in the world, now a lot of those plants are ghost towns. We know here what it means to buy American & to help all our related industries.Thats why I have allways purchased American cars& because they were JUST DAMN GOOD!& try to do that with all the products I buy ,eventhough the list is getting thin.
I suppose most of you know the F-Body series was made in Ste. Therese,Canada, but the brunt of the parts are of U.S. origin,ie. eng. Tonawanda,NY.
When I refered to Krauts, or Japs, just a bygone lingo of boomers who had, fathers, uncles, who were killed,in WW2.No maliciousness intended, currently a bad choice of words.
IF believing in American products,& (I know some of our parts are forign but not the overwhelming brunt),& American UAW & USWA workers classifies me as a racist in your eyes, so be it.
Lets not judge so many people here & get so sensitive & use this forum for what is was intended, an excellant tool of shared knowledge, where most of us can learn & give valuable input.
BTW how old are you, what do you do in Tulare?

Yeah I had figured you might have been around or had family in the WWII age, the anti-japanese attitude in the 30s and 40s was pretty bad.
Their products aren't so bad and it really isn't a manufacturers fault that people lose their jobs here. It's all about supply and demand.. if the demand for domestic products decreases, they must be doing something wrong to not keep up with the competition. Nobody's fault really, it's just the way the economy works.
By the way, I am very much into American cars, but I don't mind the imports either at all.. I am a fan of anything that goes fast
To answer your question, I am 20 and was raised in Tulare, CA which is the dairy capitol of the State, if not the whole damn world LOL. I know we have the world's largest agriculture show every year.. anyway, it's all farming there. A lot of cows and corn.. I go to school in Southern California (Irvine), but when I am home for summer I usually do painting/general maintenance work.Sinister Six©
My \'95 Bird
I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.

A lot of people in other countries do show alligience to their domestic products, its a shame we do not here ,but such is life.We come from different worlds, you from mostly agriculture ,me, very heavy industry, too bad more Americans are'nt in touch with the plights of industry here.Believe me if we can show some patriotism in a buy American Campaign,it will help.
I was in Hawaii years ago & talked to the people who worked in the pineaple & sugar cane industry, they had a problem with forign pineapple & artificial sweeteners, hurt them bad. From that day on ,I never bought a can of pop that had artificial sweetener in it,& looked at pineapple can labels to make sure they said Hawaiian Pinapple.I past the word around, hell every little bit helps!geocor

japan more advanced than USA? nah, the US government is by far superior and well more advanced than any country in the world.
Japan Business looks at it like this - Everyone should be able to have new technology, we can sell it cheaply, and profit off the numbers we sell. No one will be left out.
USA Business looks at it like this - We can make big money off this product, and only make a limited production, that will get people to pay higher because the item will be rare and new.
BTW, Do not buy bosch, they make crap. Get some nice NGK. Any NGK you desire, just don't buy bosch, bosch is not performance, its OEM standards, quite possibly below.

if ac delco is making an iridum plug for our engines it would probably work fine too.
the advantage (apparently) of iridium is that it doesnt need as much voltage as platinum to fire (however iridium still needs more than a copper plug but copper plugs need to be changed every 24k-30k and on some 3.8's this is a real hassle).
you should use firesleeves on the plugs/boots. even the factory put metal sheilds on some of the plugs (since you get 8 sleeves why not do all 6?).
i have used taylor and msd. both are fine (although it might be easier to get the fire sleeves on the taylor boots).

ok guys dont any one go POPING A CAP in anyone. we dont need to fight over plugs. but even though ac delco plugs are ngks america still gets some money because it has the american name on it. oh yeah i recomend the multi angle 8.5 msd wires. they cost me a little more for the universal. but it helps get the plug wires away from the manifolds.help me build the ultimate sleeper soon ill have a lot more mods than i can list and watch out for the spikes. 02 firebird

I have a 2000, and I used the Taylor wires made for the 93-97 models. They fit fine. I just put heat sleeves over the ends, installed the wires, and no worries.
And who would've ever thought a simple question about plugs would lead to two pages of pure nonsense? The bottom line is, some people like imports, others like domestics. It just depends on your personal preference. It's called "individuality". Look that up sometime guys.
And the whole WWII thing is just like these redneck idiots who still run around flying the rebel flag, and the ones who think they should get a check because their ancestors were slaves. It happened long before you were even born, so get over it.2000 3.8L Firebird, Silver Metallic

\"Yes, London.
