  • water in the rear right side floorboard

odd this is twice i've noticed that was was about an inch deep in the rear right floorboard and i just don't understand where it is coming from, the seals around the window and rear hatch look fine.. I'll take another look but that would mean it would have to travel from the hatch, behind my rear speaker panel (beside rear passenger seat), down to the floorboard which is an odd angle.

my drivers side window seal right in the corner is open and it doesn't leak.

    any ideas?

    here is a layout
the insulation is like bubble wrap plastic but it is with that silver/foil look in the middle layer

it just started this this past month or two

i put it in under brand new carpet a few months ago

If you don't have t-tops, I'd say there's a leak through the passenger door weatherstripping somewhere, especially along the weatherstripping that the window runs against -on the body of the car. Water can make it's way down the side of the door and into the rear floorboard.

i've heard that some people who had this same problem replaced the weather stripping around the hatch and that helped

I have a similar leak. Its from the window seal. Mine runs down behind the plastic interior panels.

Also check to see if it's just water, or possibly anti-freeze mixed in there. That's a common spot for puddling when your heat core gives out. More than likely is the weather stripping or one of those though.

Also there is a rubber plug (or there should be) in the well under the seat there. You would have to pull up the carpet to get to it.

I'm going to probably be removing the plastic panels, 1. where the rear speaker is and 2. my door panels this weekend anyway to work on my speakers and maybe sand them down and repaint them so i will just pull out the water hose and try to make water run somewhere so i can see when the panel isn't in the way. If not its probably the heat core thing OneQuickV6 said.

Pulling the interior panels and hosing down the car is the way I found my leak. It takes 2 ppl. Someone inside the car ans someone hosing down the car. I have tried a couple time to fix it w/o replacing the window weather stripping, but it looks as if that is what I will have to do.
