I dont remeber what ASR does or what it stands for, Didn't have it on mine but, SGS is Second Gear Start. Useful in snow/ice and sometimes very wet conditions. I never really used it, I hit the switch one day at the track by mistake and ran a very slow 1/4. I was wondering why it didn't shift til 78MPH. Hope this helps you.2005 Cavalier LS Sport M5
http://members.cardomain.com/firefighter8615

I'm in a hotel on vacation, but offhand:
ASR = Acceleration Slip Reduction. Say you're driving through some ice and floor it. Obviously your rear wheels will spin. With ASR on, if it detects the rear wheels spinning, it will automatically pull the throttle back so you won't spin.
SGS = Second Gear Start. If you're sitting on ice and try to roll forward, you may just start spinning. Selecting SGS puts the car into 2nd gear instead of 1st, which can help avoid wheelspin until you get going.

Edit: Why does my title say "Here to stay" while yours says "Moderator"? I'm a FL mod, so I would've though it would say Mod.

It will help you from spinning in slick conditions, but it does this by cutting off the fuel. It boggs down, and you end up running slower.~Chris
1999 Hugger Orange Camaro
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273836

†…faith…hope
