wow....i have been a little concern when taking mine on & off cause the handles don't glide real smooth. Did it break off or just came off?

On my 96 bird, the levers were really hard to latch, so being the tinkerer I am I took it apart and lubbed it all up, now I moves like butter. It is not really complicated, the hardest part is putting the retainer pin back in the handle during the reassemble. Be sure not to bend up that pin ;)

If the handle fell off, you probably broke the retainer pin. if you take off your other pin from the other side, you might be able to fabricate a new one, or modify a universal one to fit, it looked very generic.

As for the gooey rubber, my suggestion is to find out what makes rubber do that, cause I don't know, and to prevent it.
In order to fix it, they do sell new t-top rubber seals, I would check with someone who has put in t-tops, on a non ttop car, and find out where they got it.

Or you could do what I would do, and try an fabricate a patch out of a universal one from the autoparts store.

Speaking of T-Tops on a non T-Top car.. how much does it cost to do something like that and where can it be done? How reliable is it? Do they leak most of the time or what>

just get new weatherstripping. you can get it off ebay for about $10 plus shipping.

t-tops on a non t-top car cost me $200 and no leaks.
