It's different? A coil pack is a coil pack.
\'94 Camaro 3.4<br />\"No, Starvin Marvin. That\'s my pot pie.\"
yes. a coil pack is a coil pack. however, the ignition system in a 3.8 differs from a 3.4 there are different sensors and different wirings for those sensors as well as different wiring that goes to the ignition module. I cant use the wiring harness for the 3.8 as it would be wrong.
i would get lots of misfires and other bad things going that route.

p.s. for everyones fyi - i found the wiring diagram i needed. took a lot of searching. but. anyway...
Russel where did you find the wiring diagram right now my car sounds like its missin with the way i hooked it up and i cant find a diagram that is set up right up...actually my car stalls out now
CALL MSD!
There is a wiring diagram some where around on the board but it is wrong, you have to call MSD! The instructions that come with it don't work for our cars and there isn't a correct diagram online anywhere that I know of (I only found 1 for the 3.4) so just call them! It's a free call, takes 5 minutes, and they will tell you how to wire it correctly!
Batmobile i understand this but the TECH LINES AT MSD are only open MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 8AM-5PM and im tryin to get my car runin again today so im kinda out of luck on the tech lines and i was hopin someone had a diagram...i understand that u said both diagrams on this site our wrong..but maybe russel had found one that worked since he said it took alot of searching.......SO I WILL CALL MSD ON MONDAY if someone doesnt have the diagram i was only hopin for a lil help sooner...thanx for the advice and im not tryin to yell back at ya or nothin im just tryin to stress the fact i hear what u are sayin but under the circumstances bein a saturday it will not help me
Let me see if my dad has another number for MSD, he's a certified MSD something
If not I will go try to make a diagram off my car for you ok?
It's just hard for me to make the diagram because all my wires are covered and half-way hidden hehe.
thanks alot man, this whole thing just bothers me that they wouldnt give you the correct diagram when u spend $350 on a box thats should work with the instructions.........i do appreciate it
ok well my dad isn't home and I can't get to my wires right now, they're inside of a wire loom that is taped and zip-tied up so I am going to go to kragens and get some electrical tape cause I don't have any here and see if I have any zip ties then I can safely open the wireloom, otherwise if I leave it untaped and unziped I could have wires getting caught in my belt
Ok here we go.
I just got what was connected to my coil packs, I think there are a few wires that don't go to anything and probably a ground wire or 2, but I am guessing this is the biggest deal right here. If there are extra wires that you don't know where they go, tell me what color they are and I will go look for them.
Now this is from my point of view, so if you have the coil interface units already installed on your car, this is going from LEFT to RIGHT (driver side to passenger side).
For the CIU on coil pack 2/5:
White*: Goes to 2 Black/Red wires
Black*: Goes to 2 red wires
Black: Yellow
White: Black/Yellow
For the CIU on coil pack 3/6:
White: Black/Green
Black: Green
Black: Goes with the 2 red wires from Black* above
White: Goes with the 2 Black/Red wires from White* above
For the CIU on coil pack 1/4:
White: Black/White
Black: White
Black: Goes with the 2 Red wires from Black* above
White: Goes with the 2 Black/Red wires from White* above.
See the first one is a bastard one, which is what was giving us trouble... it's backwards from the other 2. That is probably why yours is sputtering because you have them all uniform... try this and let me know how it works.
i think somethins out of wack on my car now....it always sounded like metal rubbin metal....but it like trys really hard to start smells like raw gas not burnin made weird suction sound pop last time i tryed startin it
