  • single pole double throw relay and DRL's

I was looking at a site on how he put DRL's on his pre 97 Camaro; he did his with a separate switch. The problem that I have with this is that if the switch is on with your lights then your turn signals don't work. What I want to do is connect it to the existing switch for our lights. This is what I had planned. I wanted to hook up a key on 12 volt source to pin 30 and hook up the 'high intensity lights' to pin 87a and the low intensity lights to pin 87. Then for the coil I wanted to hook up the car switch to one end and a ground to the other. With this set up when I turn on the head light or just parking lights the high intensity lights will go off and the normal parking lights will go on, and the lights are turned completely off then just the DRL's will be on. The only problem I have with this set up is that I don't know how many lights that we have in there. Also when I turn on my parking lights, I won't have any turn signals, or will I? If any one has a better way to hook these up any help will be greatly appreciated.

    thanks,

I have an alternate way of putting DRLs on without the hassle of the switch and all, just e-mail me and I'll send.
