The lease on my baby (2000 3.8L A4) has finally come around after 3 years. I was at the dealer today negotiating and figuring new payment options and when they looked up my VIN #'s it came up as a Z28. They checked this 3 times and every time the same thing came up. I find this very odd. If anyone can add some insight on this subject it would be very appreciated!
does your insurance company have the same VIN? if so you are paying for insurance on a Z28, and you should go total your car right now (drive it into a lake or a tree or something) and get a new Z28 out of the deal. :D
On the 93-97's if it's a v6 the 8th digit will be a S and if it's a v8 the 8th digit will be a P. Vin P=LT1, S= 3.4 V6 and K=3.8 V6. I don't know if that applies 98-02. Probably not since they went to the LS1, oh well, if you didn't know that now you do. [img]smile.gif[/img]

When I was purchasing mine I called the chevrolet headquarters to find out what options it had and it also came up as a Z28, I just chalked it up to having the Y87 package. I posted a question on v6fbody asking if all Y87 camaros showed up as Z28's and got no reply maybe you guys know something.
