I replaced the TPS because when we unplugged it, the camaro's idle went from 1700 to 800 rpms. With that, we decided to replace the TPS. So I take it that the 1400 rpm's isn't good....hmmm..well, I'll make a trip to the Advance Auto and get a new IAC ($33.00) and replace it. But the TPS was definetly on it's way out!!
By the way, "we" is a friend of mine who is a GM Master Tech. that said it was a TPS problem. Oh well, I guess he can't be right all the time...Lol
Let you know what happens...

a TPS can't do much for idle. but for the future. to test a TPS to see if it's actualy "on it's way out" you can sweep test it using the tech artcials link in my sig or going here http://mainstreamtopics.com/forums/i...showtopic=1315
this will tell you if it's actualy bad.
Thanks for the link HBHRacing. I'll let my friend read it too!!! Well, like I said before, it's time for another trip to the parts store and get the IAC. I'll try to post the results before Monday (just moved- do not have my high speed internet hooked up yet:( )... thanks again.
Yeha it probably is that IAC. Also try this, when it is idling high, turn on the A/C if it idles normally, then it is definatly the IAC. Dont ask me to explain that fully. :D
What a weekend!! Well, I dropped the ball...unpacked the whole weekend and didn't replace the IAC yet. The car is actually running normal right now (knock on wood). I will pick up new one today and install it. Let you guys know what happens.
Hey everyone! I've been trying to remove my transmission for two days now! I need to replace the clutch. Only thing I've got left holding the transmission...
