Hi, I just bought a 1994 Pontiac Firebird at an auction an the Headlights did not flip up so I bought 2 brand new motors and it still wont work! So I am wandering if I am missing a part or there is bad wiring or there is a relay or fuse somewhere that i need to replace. ANY ADVICE WOULD BE APPRECIATED! Thank you very much and I am looking forward to being a part of this message board.
Do the lights come on when you flip the switch? I had a problem with mine where I could flip the switch and the lights would come on but not flip up. It ended up being that I had to clean the switch because of some slight corrosion.
i just saw johns post and light not popping up but the light would come on
where was the switch that needed cleaning i have a 98 thats doing the same thing and its booked to go in the shop tom but id like to avoid the cost
Thanks for the replies but keep the posts coming. I will try and clean the switch tonight. I also did a search and found absolutely nothing on the subject if relays or fuses ad where they are located so if anyone knows that info. please tell me.
Pick yourself up a Haynes repair manual for your car from your local auto store. It has all the wiring diagrams that you're looking for. It helps if you reply to people's suggestions so that they know whether you have tried a certain solution or not, otherwise its hard to isolate the problem. You have a fuse box located under the hood (it should be on the driver's side under a black box), and there is another one on the side of your dash on the drivers side. You'll see the cover when you open the door.
when i put my slp cold air in my car i disconnected the headmotor control thing(not sure of the technical name) that sits on the intake, and i forgot to plug it back in, the lights came on and motors didn't do anything. could be yours got disconnected.
