"Tune-up" used to mean points, condenser, rotor, cap, wires, plugs, timing, PCV valve, yadda yadda yadda.

Now days with computerized engines, there are no points, no condenser, no rotor, no cap, no adjustable timing, etc. If you get a tune up, you're basically getting plugs and wires. MAYBE they'll clean the EGR and replace the PCV valve.

If you can do these things yourself, save the money.

Plugs & wires you can do yourself. Changing the PCV is probably a good idea if it hasn't been done. Also, how long since you had the fuel filter changed?

Man I had a code and I told them it was egr valve soleniod 2&3 well they of corse hooked it up to the machine to check the codes so I ended up paying 200 for my egr to be cleaned.
