I have factory locking lugs nuts on my wheels. 2000 Chevy Camaro, anyway I bought the car 6 months ago and last night I went to replace the front rotors when low and behold I have Locking Lug Nuts that I have no key for. How do I remove them if gm doesn't have a key for them?

Take them to a wheel/tire place and have them use an air chisel on them (or whatever other method they use). Be sure to take 4 new lug nuts with you.- Josh
If you have any questions or need installation pics/help, e-mail me: Viper98885@aol.com
\'93 Camaro Hardtop
\'01 Lincoln LS8 Sport
\'00 Yamaha YZF-R6
Full Throttle Performance

My girlfriend had this done on her car. Charged her 10 bucks to take off the locking ones and put plain ones on at a shop.
Another question: Either my key or the nuts themselves are stripping, meaning I can't get the key off the nut after I torque them down. Probably because of some a-hole using an impact wrench on them. Can new keys be bought from GM or should I just put standard ones on.1999 Y87 Camaro
Whisper Lid, SLP SS Takeoff Exhaust

"Can new keys be bought from GM?"
Sure. When I got my car new they gave me a card with the number on it.
They may be able to look up the number for your car from the VIN.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs

I got a new set not long ago 'cuz the dealership, of all places, lost my key, and then expected me to PAY for new lugnuts!! I promptly went to see the service manager in his office, closed the door, and unloaded a speech on him that would make your average sailor crawl under the table. That, coupled with the fact that I bought my car off their showroom floor and my dad has purchased 3 trucks from them, got me 4 new locking lugnuts with a new key pretty quickly.2000 3.8L Firebird, Silver Metallic

\"Yes, London. its easy to bust them off yourself, all u need to do is find a socket that is just barely to big them hammer that ***** on to the lug nut, the take a breaker bar and use a lil torque it will come right off, took me about 5 minutes on my wheel, but instead of using a socket i went to my local SEARS and bought a bolt out kit, its used to take out strip bolts, i hammered that on and it worked great then i took the bolt out back to sears and got a new one cuz it was stuck inside, gotta love the lifetime warranty*1997 Camaro v6 3.8*
President of NorCal Sinister Six

I just bought a set of lock lugs with key from SLP. Can't remember how much it was but I bet it was way cheaper than the dealer...RD in AZ
2001 V6 Camaro, A4, Mystic Teal
www.azfba.com

Mods so far:

Brand new wiper blades...
