• Need Help Diagnosing!

ok,
my car has been really underpowered, when I floor it it kinda jerks, and shudders off the line, and barely accelerates on the FWY...now, to me it made sense it was a fuel problem, wich Russ suggested, and then I took it to the place that rebuilt my engine (Coast Motor Supply) and they say it's a burnt piston (from driving my car too hard :( ) what does it sound like to you guys?

Our cars don't have MAFs.....

How are your wires/Coils?

Sounds like a cyl is not firing. If you have no compression in the cylender then it owudl not be firing...have you had a compression check done?

ok, didn't have time for compression test I'll do it tomorrow...but....I pretty much know it isn't a burnt piston...after changing the fuel filter it picks up pretty nicely. I think it's my trans dying (it has a lot of probs) a bad clutch, bad spark maybe...noticed before coil packs had a little bit of corrosion/rust...and I have a **** load of exhaust leaks lol...so, I am pretty convinced now my engine is more or less fine

It's not a "burnt piston." The problem is in your ignition somewhere. I would start with plugs and wires. This problems comes up with a lot of 3.4's and the problems is fixed with a simple tune up.

I had that problem before. I thought the engine was going to have a premature death. :( New plugs and wires turned her back into a beast. :D

no, no codes, but I've had two people now tell me it sounds like a clutch problem, the car only REALLY picks up in first gear

I think it's a burnt clutch, my coils do need cleaning though

Check your ignition before you jump into a clutch repair. IMHO and with my experience with the 3.4, I can almost 100% guarantee that it's either in the coils, plugs or wires and NOT in the clutch.
