• PO125 code

    got this code on my 2000. book says that it is:

    insufficient coolant temperature for closed loop fuel control.

    anybody know what this means or could possibly be? here's what's happening to my car. it'll start and run fine for about 15-20 mins, then start to misfire like heck and the engine will knock/ping like crazy. changed plugs and wires. haven't checked coils yet. any thoughts? thanks.

    any mods?

    Insufficient Coolant Temperature for Closed Loop Fuel Control;
    ECT Excessive Time to Closed Loop Fuel Control

    That means that the PCM has not seen enough temp from the ECT before it's times out. is the car running cool more then normal? a stuck thermo will set this code as will a faulty ECT. looking at the 02's would also be good

      Check the coolant temp. sensor (there are a few methods to test it, like boiling some water, setting the sensor in, and hooking it up to a voltmeter) and make sure your thermostat isn't stuck open.

          I'd look towards the thermostat or ECT well before the O2 sensors, being that if the heaters on the O2 sensors aren't working well, they will trip a DTC all their own. The 00+ cars don't always like cooler thermostats for this reason, replace your thermostat and see if that doesn't fix it entirely

            the thermo is new, about 2 months old. i'm not throwing any O2 codes. guess only thing left would be the ECT right?
