• Just got some Seafoam....I have just 1 question...

Just picked up some Seafoam from Napa. $4.23 a can, not expensive at all. Now, on my 1999 Bird, exactly where do I pour it? I HAVE READ all of the posts regarding this product which is why I bought it. I just don't know where to pour it, and I don't wanna screw anything up. Thank you in advance! :D One thread mentions the Throttle Body Vac Line. Where is that sucker?

same problem here...I just got back from buying Seafoam and I don't exactly know where to pour it either..There are thousands of lines under the hood..if someone can get into specifics, I would appreciate. One post said to pour it into the brake booster, but I cannot locate that. btw I have a 3.4 camaro.

What is below comes direcly from the Sea Foam web site. Hope this helps.

How Many Mechanics Use SEA FOAM

In Tune-Up of 4 Cycle Gasoline Carbureted or Fuel Injected Engines
Autos, Trucks, and Tractors

With engine warm, slowly pour 1/3 to 1/2 pint through carburetor or throttle body throat. (If vehicle is port injected slowly pour SEA FOAM through direct manifold vacuum line that will feed all cylinders, possible sources are P.C.V. valve or brake booster line.) This will pull SEA FOAM down on top of the pistons and to the back of the intake valves to dissolve carbon. Turn ignition off. Restart engine after 5 minutes. If severe carbon build up is apparent, use more Sea Foam as previously directed. Make sure exhaust is well ventilated when using Sea Foam in these various ways as fumes will be extreme for a short time.
Pour 1/3 to 1/2 pint into oil crank case to clean rings, lifters, dirty parts and remove moisture.
Pour 1/3 to 1 full pint into fuel tank to clean injectors, carburetor jets, fuel lines and remove moisture.
Immediate Results: Smoother idle, increased R.P.M.'s better throttle response and improved performance. See label on can for detailed results for use in each area.
FUEL TANK, CARBURETOR, INJECTION and OIL CRANKCASE.

For Peak Performance, Use SEA FOAM Every 2,000 to 5,000 Miles

Yup, I have the same info, but I need to know EXACTLY WHERE in our engine to pour it. I know where the PCV valve is. I suppose I can use that.

On 3.8 engines, look on the passenger side of the engine near the throttle body. You will see a 90degree rubber line that goes into the TB, pull that line off and you will see a metal tube about 1 or 2 inches long that sticks out.
I installed another rubber hose to the end of that metal line and started the engine and poured the seafoam in there. You will feel the vacuum that is created once you start the car. Put your thumb over the end of the hose so that your car won't stall. Pull your thumb to the side a little to expose some vacuum, and pour the seafoam into that vacuum. It'll suck it right in, then stall. Let the car sit for 5 min. without running, then re-start.
I think on the 3.4 engines you need to pour the seafoam in through the brake booster line that is located just behind your master cylinder. Follow the same application listed above with the engine running.

Red2K1..Thanks!! That picture was worth a thousand words..it was a PITA to actually pour the Seafoam in. None of my 5 funnels were small enough to get in the tube, so I went to ACE Hardware to buy a bottle with a small nozzle. I put the stuff in and it smoked crazy like everyone says. The throttle response does feel better too. I love Seafoam :D Thanks again everyone

blk_camaro_convt: From what I've heard, for the 3.4 the only way to do is from the brake boost. (possibly other ways too) I didn't know where that was located, but Red2K1 posted a site that showed exectly what it looked like and that's all I needed! It then simply disconnects and you pour the Seafoam right into it. Worked great!

on the 3.4...... look for your brake fluid thing..... behind that is a thing that looks like a BIG black canaster.... on the left side you will see a BIG hose going to it... pinch the ring keeping it tytely sealed and move it down, then pull it off and it will start sucking like insane and ur rpms will jump really high... just hold the bottle near the hose and start pouring, it will suck it on up....
