I'd like to know if I changed to a heavier weight of oil, would the smoke that I get at start stop? Right now I'm using 10w30 Valvoline Maxlife. I have 86000 miles on the engine and I get a lot of blue smoke when it starts up.. but it stops after a couple seconds. I know that it's nothing major, but I find it kind of embarrassing. Any feedback will be very much appreciated...

    Thanks

Nah. It will still leak just like other oils. In the long run it's harder on your oil pump, so I wouldn't bother.

There are special oils out there to address your problem (valve guide seals) I use Valvoline Max Life and it fixed mine, but it sounds like yours is worse.

No worries... just wait for the rebuild cash to come around!
