ok, my camaro is 2001, and I see you guys talkingabout the Y87 pkg and stuff and the LSD and 235 tires, but My car came from the fatory without any Y87 pkg. I have a 3.42 LSD and 245/50. the only thing not Y87 that you talk about is the stock duals, i dont have those. Are these available as individual options, or what? I didnt special order my car, I got it from the general manager who is my neighbor, he used it as a demo car. did I get lucky or is this normal stock stuff??

How did you determine that you have 3.42 gears and LSD?Robert - owner www.FirebirdV6.com/CamaroV6.com

Yup, I knew they did that to a few 2000's, didn't know 2001's got it as well. I got one of the lucky cars that didn't have Y87 and still came with LSD, 3.24's, and the tires as well.Kyle M<br />--------------<br /><a href=\"http://grdws6.netfirms.com\" target=\"_blank\">2002 Trans Am WS6</a> (silver, A4) - lid, cutout, stage 3 shift kit, 12 bolt, vig 3200, tranny cooler, bmr sfc/stb, torq thrust ii. <b>12.688 @ 106.47mph -=- 1.756 60\'</b>

To be on the safe side, check your RPO codes on your driver's-side door. Code GU6 indicates 3.42 gears, while code G80 indicates limited-slip. Did you by any chance get one of the 'RS' model Camaro's that SLP built?2001 Onyx Black Camaro M5-Totalled<br />2005 Ford F150 XLT 5.4L<br /><br />\"To make peace, prepare for war.\"

Either that or the 3.08's... I'm pretty sure it's the 3.23's though.Kyle M<br />--------------<br /><a href=\"http://grdws6.netfirms.com\" target=\"_blank\">2002 Trans Am WS6</a> (silver, A4) - lid, cutout, stage 3 shift kit, 12 bolt, vig 3200, tranny cooler, bmr sfc/stb, torq thrust ii. <b>12.688 @ 106.47mph -=- 1.756 60\'</b>

I think GM did a very smart thing by breaking up the Y87 package. I don't want their muffler anyway, all I wanted was the posi and gear, and thats what I got.

yeah I was kinda bummed that I didn't see a Y87 on the RPO codes on the door until I found GU6 and G80! I have the P235/55R16 tires though (RPO code QCB) though. I take it the Y87 had a diff size than those?
I agree that I can live without the Y87 dual exhaust, considering there is a Borla cat-back in my future if I am lucky
Oops, I have a 2000 with factory ground effects and t-tops just to give context!
