under dash red wire power tap????

I remember reading about it somewhere, there being a red wire that you can use to wire stuff up with. i don't really feel like running another wire under the door panel from the battery accesory pole. which, any, red wire can i splice into if i want to get power for a switch? thanks.

Do you need +12V at all times or just when the ignition is on? For on all the time, use the red wire coming from behind the cig lighter. For on w/ignition, look at the bundle of wires (probably taped over) that goes from under the steering column towards the passenger side of the car. You can get to it pretty well from the area on the right side of the gas pedal that goes all the way over to the passenger side. Untape a small section of that wire bundle and pull out a pink wire. That will come on when you turn the key forward or back.
