What is the stock thermostat for a 2002 Camaro? 195 or 180? I want to know because if its 180, I guess there wouldn't be any point in getting a 180 hypertech or jet thermostat, would be about the same I guess.

And if you get anything lower than a 180, let me know so I can hook you up with a resistor so your PCM doesn't give you hell about it.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

Hmm, ok so my 1999 3.8L Camaro actually has a 195 degree thermo?
Maybe someone should change the tech database since it led me to believe I have the 180 degree thermo already.SLP CAI, K&N, Whisper Lid, 180* thermo, manual fan switch, 3.42 gears, Auburn Pro LSD, Wester\'s PCM Tuning, TSP Rumbler, High Flow Cat. Best Time: 9.909@71.58 (1/8 mile)

Not the most effective method, but we used my friends heat gun to figure out when the thermostat turned on. according to that it was 180, and as far as I know, it's still stock. I remember reading somewhere that some of them came with 180s, is that true? If so, how would I find out for sure.2003 Zinc Yellow Mustang GT 1 of 701
ET : TBD
But our shenanigans are cheeky and fun! WHat is wrong with a 160 thermo? I have one in my 99 and it runs just fine. I got it to combat detonation w/ n20.
