  • gross weight vs. curb weight?

I was browsing through edmunds.com and noticed that for new car listings, there's now a "gross weight" in addition to the curb weight for a vehicle. Do any one here know the reasoning? The gross weight was always heavier than curb weight.

Curb weight is the weight of the vehicle empty. No passengers or fluids.

Gross, is a loaded vehicle, passengers, fluids, cargo, etc.
