My cruise control dosent work. What is the process of troubleshooting a problem like this?

Um... Check the fuse and the cable. If that's not it, might have to see the dealer. There's not that many servicable parts on that system.

It runs parallel to your throttle cable. You can trace it back from your throttle body. It goes back to a solenoid. If the solenoid is out, you might want to have a technician handle it because it has to be adjusted properly. Past that it involves your ECM. I wouldn't go there either.

The cruise unit is mounted down low on the frame forward of the left front wheel (95 Camaro). Cruise is electronic on these, so there's not a whole lot you can do, other than to check the fuse.

There is also a tie-in to the CHMSL (centre high mounted stop light). This light must be operational or the cruise won't work.

Any idea why? Maybe just to let you know to check the bulbs?

No idea! The fsm contains a note on the wiring diagram for the cruise that says:

"Important! Brake signal input must be pulled low through CHMSL bulb or cruise control will not work."

This seems to be a lot of extra complication just for knowing the CHMSL bulb is ok. There already is signalling available through the brake sw and through a separate cc sw attached to the brake pedal *** 'y.

Next time I post, I'll think twice before abbreviating. :D
