  • Good Ol' Misfires

Ok so we all know the problem, SES light and misfires. Now here is the thing I know the usual analysis for this is bad plugs/wires/coils which is deffinatly a possiblity, the wires look ok and are not burnt through, in addition, the misfires are not constant only occasionally and usually when the car is cool, or at WOT with low RPMs. Therefore i am kinda leaning to a injector prob. I put injector cleaner in BEFORE the problem started, then i ran about a quater of a tank through and the car sat for about 3 days while i was at the beach.

Well thats that so what does everyone think? I am gonna clear my PCM tonight and see what happens but i would love some input.

    Thanks Yall...

Scan it before you clear it and find out if it is random misfires or if it is a particular cylinder. It will help ya track down the problem.

i had an almost similar occurance of misfires (at WOT at low RPM's or sometimes at idle), replaced the coil, wires, plugs, ran injector cleaner, it's still happening. another mechanic scanned it and he thinks it's due to a faulty MAF sensor. so we're gonna replace it when i order a new one and see what happens.
