  • Sea Foam

To those that have used it could you really tell if it helped you out? I have about 500mi left before my next oil change and thought of trying it and then going to a place that can flush engine oil to make sure it is all nice and clean.

i think it helped quite a bit when i used it. only thing is...it's kinda scary to see all that white smoke coming out the tailpipes. nothing is broken, that's just all the muck that has been pulled off the engine being burned up. actually, i think it may be time for that again.

You're local GM parts dealer should sell it too. It's AKA top engine cleaner. ;)

I heard some one using in the vacuum system, where they put it in at? By the brake booster, in the 1/2inchish looking rubber tube?

Yeah hopefully someone can also fill me and I'm sure others as well on what exactly seafoam does.

I have roughly 90k on my car and I'm sure theres junk in there that should be cleaned. So lets hear the Seafoam 101 Basics!

To clean the throttle body and intake, remove the vacuum line that connects the MAP to the throttle body. Pour sea foam into the vacuum tube while the car is running, until the car dies (Or until about a 1/2 a cup or so has been poured in). Turn the car off, and wait about 5-10 minutes. Start the car and let it idle for quite a while. You'll know it's working because of the ungodly amount of white smoke dumping out of the exhaust. Don't worry. it's normal. Run until smoke is gone. Hope this helps. I did this on my car a while ago, and it seemed to really help.
