  • Did any of you know this about the 1997 Firebird???

Ok so I have a 1997 firebird, well I just got some new O2 sensors to put in my car and I jack the car up, and I'm like damn the connectors are not the same. So i figure Advance Auto Parts gave me the wrong ones. Well as it turns out they didnt, after about an hour we figure out that the sensors on my car are the same as on the 1998's. GM must have changed the sensors mid run. My car was bought late in 1997, so I guess they started using 98 parts when the 1997 sutff ran out.

All this kinda makes me wonder what else in my car is really a 1998 firebird part and not a 1997.

Has anyone had any similar experiences???

I believe the cut-off month is August. Check out your door jamb sticker for the month and year of production.
