recently installed the manual fan switch in my car...after installed, would not work (fans not on) but both LED lights (high and low) would come on spontaneously...now, out of nowhere, the fans are on fulltime, upon start up...also, about 3 weeks later, installed a 160 thermostat, and then about 4 days after that, my temp gauge now doesnt move at all (stays at bottom left at all times-as if 'off), now my service engine soon light just came on...any ideas here before i start taking a look? any help is appreciated.

The fans staying on and the temp gauge are due to your thermostat. It's too bad you don't have a 2002 or I could edit your computer for you. Anyway, the manual fan switch didn't cause those problems. The only way to fix it is to buy HPTuners or do some sort of mail-order tune so someone can delete the coolant thermostat code.
Now everyone's gonna tell you you shouldn't use a 160* stat but I love mine.2002 Pewter V6 Camaro M5 <br /><br />Quickest stock-motor N/A V6 4th Gen F-body.<br />2nd Quickest N/A V6 4th Gen F-body overall.<br />mods: Gear, weight reduction, tuning <br /><br />Fear the Gear. 13.585 @ 100.05 1.827 60\'<br /><br /><br /><a href=\"http://www.NJFBOA.org\" target=\"_blank\">www.NJFBOA.org</a>

yeah, i had my mechanic look at it and he said it was the 160 thermostat...however, ive been under the impression for a long time that our 3.8's are compatible with 160 thermo's...as i know many people that have them...i even have the hypertech programmer III computer set to 160, so everyhitng shouldve been fine. im in NJ, so we have all 4 seasons weather-wise, my mechanic recomnded i take it out, put the stock 195 back in, and wait till the summer to try to use it. is there anyone else in cold(er) weather climates with a 160 thermo? anyone else encounter these probs?2001 Pewter Camaro A4/Y87<br />--------------------<br />K&N Aircharger, SLP Cold Air Induction, Hypertech Programmer III, 160* thermostat, manual fan switch & just ordered 3\" SLP loudmouth system LIVE THE MAYHEM - <a href=\"http://www.collegemayhem.com\" target=\"_blank\">http://www.collegemayhem.com</a>

I'd go for the 180 degree If I were you. And also, our cars kind-of have a built in manual fan switch. Just turn your climate control to MAX or AC, and it will kick on you fans. You don't even have to turn on the knob that determines how much air is coming out (low med. high etc.), just leave that off. It works like a charm and keeps the engine temp at around 185 even sitting for long periods of time.
