well, i just got back from getting this **** fixed, the bastard is trying to charge me 100 bucks for this, oh well, he only changed 3 plugs today and he will do the rest next week. The car is now running great, he cahnged the messes up plug and all and its doing fine, not even the SES light is on. It did take him like 1:30 to change just 3, i wonder how much longer it will take him to cahnge the other side, which is much harder, but oh well I will pay him then. Thanks for all your help guys.

Yeah, the plugs on the '96 3800 are a PITA. You need to pull the exhaust manifold heat shields to get at #s 4 & 6 on the right side, and #5 on the left, and it takes a while. I did my son's and it took about 2 hours to do all 6....it\'s lonely out in space...

it took me like 4 hours because i bought msd wires that i had to measure and cut myself so, i think i posted it but the ses light went off the minute i started the car the next morning.
i came the the conclusion that the amout of spark that msd puts off is too high to use the heat shields. ill keep everyone post if the bastards melt... the good thing is they give you two extra wires and a @ss load of connector ends.....1997 3.8 Red Firebird
RKSport 2\" racing springs,TA Rims,
Dual Out Magna Flow Exaust/2.5\" Exauhst cut-out (loud),
2-10\" JL W-3\'s, 300/2 JL AMP
1 Farad Rockford Fosgate Capasitor,
B&M Shift Improvment Mod,
SLP Cold Air Intake, MSD 8.5mm Wires, Bosh Plats, 160 deg thermo
in the mail:
Zexel Torsen Posi Unit, 3.23 (for now)& new transmission.

i have a 99 firebird. had msd super conductor wires and ngk plugs put on. i also had a problem like yours without the ses light. i put my heat shield back on one of my boots that was touching the exhaust. when i put it on that plug was arching and caused it to run rough. the second i pulled the shield it was fine. im keeping the shield off hoping it won't melt my boot.99 firebird A4
W68 package, Y87 package,SLP ram air H.O.hood,Whisper lid,kn filter,Borla 3in. adj. cat back smallest plate, 180*powerstat, removed maf screen, 3 in. cat,ngk plugs, nitto 450 245/50 tires
