• To rebuild or not to rebuild... I'm confused!

Ok, i need some help. My car is reaching 130K now and its running great, however i feel like its time to change the engine 'cause i'm moving out to another town and i wanna get this car as good as new before moving out, so i'm wondering what is my best option when i change my engine. I'm clueless as to what to do and how much it costs. So all opinions are welcomed! Help!

if it aint broke..........as long as you take care of the drivetrain it should last another 130k min. Save your money for the move. No it doesn't answer any of your questions but is probably teh best option. Do a search, as there have been many threads on the cost of swapping engiens. Yeah it's usually for a V-ate, but will give you a realistic idea onthe cost.

Another 130K? Geez, thats awesome, did some search and it costs quite a bit, so i'm taking ur advice and just save my money, however i have another question, i'm gettin' some scholarship money this month and plus my tax money, what parts of the drivetrain should i be changing and stufflike that, i'm talkin' maintenance-wise.

i'd change ur timing chain, maybe replace ur fuel injectors (had a bad experience with fuel injectors going and taking alot with it), normal tune-up and if your really that paranoid, u can always rip the bugger apart and replace all the gaskets, and it will surely last you quite some time

O, also, the best thing that u can replace on the car, is the suspension Our cars are great for giving way under stress once u get past 90k or so miles
