  • car not starting

i had this problem today. i turned the key, and it made that noise like a stereo losing power, but really short. and then nothing after that. i jumped the car, thinking it was a battery problem, and it ran fine. then i turn off the car. and try and start it again and.... again.. nothing.

i cant start my car without jumping it. i just installed my CD player yesterday, and the proper ground and everything is connected. maybe i have a short somewhere?

    help!

its the battery then. when you jump the car and it starts the altenator runs everything. the battery is primarily used for giving spark to the engine to start it. get the battery checked. check the wires to the radio. thats what is draining it probably.

current car- 95 Trans am- bolt ons, parked and collecting dust. why? because **** it

you need to buy a new battery.. it happens when the car is about 3-4 years old, especially if its parked outside.. Get an optima!

i searched on the board and someone had a similar problem. i took the advice that some said to disconnect the negative from the battery for a few minutes then reconnect. and now everything works fine.

or so it seems. i guess we will see. i have restarted the car a few times. but im still kinda worried about my battery.

Get a new battery. I had the same problem. It was the most obvious theing after checking the fuel filter and fuel lines, the battery.
Take your used battery to autozone or someplace like that and get it checked.
