My console doesnt have a light where the shift letters are so i ripped it apart thinking the bulb was out. however I didn't find any bulb, and seemingly nowhere one would go. i drew some '?' marks next to some areas of intrest, (pic 2&4) the one wire was hanging like that when i took the console off. could that be it? i dont see where a bulb would go into it though

in pic 4 to the top right there is a little whole. thats where the bulb goes but there should be a wire somewhere in your console area. do you have the light hooked up somewhere that a previous owner might of done or looked for cut wires. do you have a light in your ashtray ? that may be where its from

well he told me that it was an undercover cop car so im thinking maybe they used the wire to hook up something else. he also put a hole through to the console, most likely for the wires for whatever crap they set up. but check out pic 2, is that it?
