  • car worth after 25 years??

ok, so a car becomes a classic after 25 years. I was just wondering about this. u guys think a highly modified v6 would be worth a lot when it becomes a classic?? if u think about it, say u have a 95, in the year 2020, there arent gonna hardly ANY 95 v6s left, all that are gonna be around are the LT1s. wouldnt that make the v6 pretty valuable??

I doubt it. In fact, I really think that our cars are going to be worth very little, even though Camaros are no longer made. If you look back at other classics, no one wants a 6 cylinder. If you were shopping for an old Chevelle, would you want the base with a straight 6 or an SS model with a 396 V8 for restoration? Put it this way, if a mint LT1 or LS1 was available, why would you pay anywhere near that for a V6 that most people would want to replace with a V8 anyway? Just my 2 cents.

i think the firebirds/camaros in general will be worth hella money in 20 years, but i dont know about the v6's. in 20 years im guessing most stock cars will have 250hp if not more, people will still want it to be fast. look at the cars now that are 30 years old, they arent even that great, the camaro and firebirds are some of the nicest looking cars made. plus right now it seems they cant get any cheaper, lol. itll probably be the dream car of most older guys like how most 40 year olds now think the old vettes are nice.

Check out the listings for old Camaros. None are the V6 base models. Even some of the V8's and Z28's are only worth a few grand. Cars are not investments, and if you want one that has a chance to appreciate, start shopping for a LS1.

What's the difference between a 1980 Firebird being worth a lot of money now and a 2000 Firebird being worth a lot of money in 2020? It's not going to happen.

Colectability depends on options, color, condition, body style. Year also has a factor, as the first and last year of a body style/run is worth more than a mid production car.
