OBD II. I cleared mine out right before I went to the dealer to trade it in from my removed cat

www.digimoto.com has some nice scan tools. I like the standalone unit to read and delete codes i think its like 75 bucks .... i have the elmscan suite (works with laptop)which provides a lot of other info besides the dtc codes.

yup..my mechanic was telling me that you can clear a code..but you have to put 50 miles on the car without a code again before you can pass..any codes i dont want i just set the computer to never report an error with HP Tuners..but the new rules SUCK

FWIW, the P0420 code should clear itself after a few run cycles. When I got my O2 sim, I just ran the car a few times and it went away. ;)

I always had luck clearing O2 sensor codes by just pulling the battery cables for a few minutes.

But as was said, those codes will clear after a few trouble free start-ups. I would say if after a week is isn't gone, start looking around, cuz you still have a problem somewhere.
