    Another idea is what I think my car is falling prone to...cylinder wear. After a while, idle compression starts to vary (lots of miles) and each cylinder contributes a different amount of force to the crankshaft, creating a "semi"-rough idle. When you give it some gas, or there isn't any real load on the engine, the uneven firing isn't as noticable. Another thing is the injectors. After a while they don't atomize as well, and at idle when the flow is at the least, it will be the most noticable...Just some more ideas for you.
